Biopolymer Sponges for Rapid Hemostasis and In-vivo Drug Delivery

This study explores the development of biopolymer-based sponges for rapid hemostasis and in-vivo drug delivery. The sponges were fabricated using natural, biodegradable polymers with high porosity and fluid absorption capacity, enabling them to promote quick blood clotting and minimize blood loss. In addition to their hemostatic efficiency, the sponges were designed to serve as localized drug carriers, ensuring sustained release of therapeutic agents directly at the target site. The dual functionality of rapid bleeding control and controlled drug delivery highlights their potential for advanced wound care and clinical applications.
